After gluing the braces I sanded them smooth. Once the glue set overnight on the top panels, I routered them with a great little bit that flush trimmed the top panel to the brace edges. Another complete sanding was done, and then it was time for the shellac. Due to our cold weather and the fact that my shop is not heated, I had to take the panels inside to glue, out to sand, in to glue, out to router, sand and shellac, and then in to gesso. It was good exercise at least. Thankfully we enjoyed a few days of chinook temperatures, which was a welcome relief from the -15C to -20C other days brought. I managed to finish the show panels just before our -42C windchill hit.
